This month's COHTAC Office Hour brought LOHPs together to continue the discussion from May's COHTAC Office Hour, focusing on the Office of Oral Health's updated deliverable guidance and the 2027-2030 RFA.

A few highlights from the discussion:

  • 2027-2030 RFA:
    • RFA documents, as well as the Office of Oral Health’s 6/11 RFA Office Hour meeting materials, can be found here
    • A few LOHPs discussed a hybrid approach with selecting their objectives – selecting one primary objective while incorporating activities from other objectives to meet local needs.
    • RFA Narrative Summary Form (question 3c) tip: Although this question is optional, one LOHP approached this question by reviewing their past progress reports and annual data forms, assessing their primary and secondary data sources, and proposing metrics based on that. Responses to question 3c will help the Office of Oral Health identify metrics that can be evaluated at the state level.
  • Peer tips for deliverables due 10/31/2026:
    • For Objective 2.4.e (B) Fluoride Success Stories Dissemination Plan, consider using feedback from previously submitted success story dissemination plans as a template. Some success story dissemination plans were submitted in 2025; you can reach out to your PC for feedback.
    • For Objective 2.4.d (A) School-based/-linked Evaluation Report, you can refer to what your LOHP submitted for Objective 2.1.b (F) Community-Clinical Linkages: Implementation Plan in 2023, which has what your LOHP outlined for SMARTIE objectives around school-based/linked activities and performance measures that can be helpful as you work on the evaluation. If you don’t have access to the 2.1.b (F) deliverable that your LOHP submitted, you can request it from your PC.
