This Lunch & Learn session focused on the basics of website design, development, and maintenance, and included detailed information to ensure websites are accessible for a range of literacy levels. We heard from two Local Oral Health Programs (LOHPs) – LA County and Orange County – on the approaches and processes they have used in developing and maintaining their websites.

- Some of the first things you can do to improve your website:
- Use analytics (views, duration, etc.) to understand who is using your website and why, and then identify who is not using your website that you’d like to attract and bring to your website
- Your website is a tool for health education – utilize your health education staff as much as possible in creating your content
- Check readability, inclusivity, and ensure it is user friendly
- Develop a maintenance routine to check links, content regularly
