What is the tobacco trend in California?
The great news is that overall smoking prevalence has decreased more than by 50% since 1994! California is second to Utah with the lowest prevalence of smokers.In 2016, the national rate of adult smokers was 17%, while in California, 11 percent smoked.The figure below shows rates per county in the state.

The newest concern however, is the exponential rise in popularity with adolescent use of e-cigarettes. While cigarette use among high school students continue to decline, e-cigarette use more than doubled to 17.3%—5% higher than the national average.
