In this Share & Learn session, we will focus on the fundamentals of creating accessible digital documents. Our session will provide a beginner's walkthrough of essential remediation techniques for Microsoft Word documents, PowerPoint presentations, and PDF files. We'll cover core concepts such as proper heading use, alternative text for images, logical reading order, and more.
The San Bernardino County and Orange County Local Oral Health Programs (LOHPs) will also share their "real-world" experiences with improving document accessibility, using examples from their own work to illustrate how accessibility considerations can be applied in practice and sharing key insights for other LOHPs. The session will conclude with a Q&A featuring our presenters and accessibility team.
At the end of this webinar, learners should be able to:
• Describe the foundational principles of digital document accessibility.
• Identify basic remediation techniques for Word, PowerPoint, and PDF files.
• Recognize common accessibility issues and apply strategies for addressing them in your daily work.
