The California School-Based Health Alliance is having a three-part oral health webinar series – April 21, May 5, and June 3 – to strengthen your knowledge about oral health efforts at both the state and local levels.
Tuesday, May 5, 10:00-11:15 am Pacific: Learn about the Kindergarten Oral Health Assessment (KOHA), a law requiring children enrolling in public school for the first time (e.g. transitional kindergarten, kindergarten and sometimes first grade) to complete a dental screening. Hear what the law requires, how KOHA contributes to children’s oral health outcomes, ways that local health departments and local educational agencies implement KOHA, and ongoing activities to increase KOHA compliance.
