For many, “oral health” connotes visits to the dentist, use of fluoride products, regular flossing, etc.
and while all these practices contribute to one’s oral health, they alone will not improve oral health.
Community health advocates in California and across the nation are working to expand how
consumers, providers, and healthcare administrators approach oral health disparities by illustrating
the connection between a community’s health and well-being and their socio-economic and
environmental conditions.
