Prevention, Production and Patient Priorities

The disease of caries remains one of the biggest challenges for patients and dental practices. The most recent American Dental Association Health Policy Institute recovery webinar reported more than 1 in 4 practices are seeing an increase in the prevalence in caries among their patients as compared to pre-pandemic levels. Diet, stress, lack of access to care and disruption of routines are just some of the issues facing your patients. Prevention strategies are more important than ever. Dr. Kevin Donly, Professor and Chair of the Department of Developmental Dentistry at UT Health San Antonio School of Dentistry, Past-President of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and an international expert on prevention will cover evidenced-based prevention basics, along with new strategies for the control of the disease of caries.

Course Objectives:

• Hear the importance of risk assessment and tracking in caries prevention • Understand the ADA Professional Fluoride Recommendations
