Teledentistry is an innovative way to provide oral health services to children and families, particularly those who face barriers related to mobility, transportation, and/or distance to a nearby provider. As California communities and providers adjust to changes in daily life in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, it becomes particularly crucial to expand and leverage the use of Teledentistry to meet the oral health needs of Californians. During this webinar you will learn what Teledentistry is, how to implement Teledentistry in your practice, and hear tips for educating patients about Teledentistry services. This webinar will also discuss current policy opportunities to promote Teledentistry across the state.

Presenter: Dr. Paul Glassman is the Associate Dean for Research and Community Engagement at the College of Dental Medicine at California Northstate University in Elk Grove, CA and Professor Emeritus at the University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni, School of Dentistry in San Francisco, CA.  He has served on many national panels including the Institute of Medicine’s (IOM) Committee on Oral Health Access to Services which produced the IOM report on Improving Access to Oral Health Care for Vulnerable and Underserved Populations.
