Our webinar series during the March-April COVID-19 shutdown focused on the communication skills necessary to assure patient and staff safety, and manage anxiety, as well as provide clinical expertise for performing non-aerosolizing procedures. Many hoped these and other changes necessary following containment would provide lasting change to the practice of dentistry, with a focus on prevention and a move away from “drill and fill." With five months of recovery experience and data, our panel will explore whether we are moving back to our past care delivery models or if there is evidence of change to our historic model. Dr. Glassman will summarize the recovery data to date along with evolving practice patterns and the public perception of our profession. Dr. Matt Allen, an expert in Motivational Interviewing, will focus on the importance of, and strategies for, the efforts to establish mouth-healthy habits. Dr. Jessica Meeske, a practicing Pediatric Dentist, will provide her office's recovery perspective and her work fostering unique community collaborations.
