ALZHEIMER’S DISEASE, PERIODONTITIS AND SYSTEMIC INFLAMMATION
It is well understood that oral health is the gateway to overall health. There is growing evidence that oral health is linked to other diseases in the body. For example, Alzheimer's disease and periodontitis are characterized by inflammation in the body. Researchers are beginning to find that a dysregulated inflammatory response could be the underlying cause and biological basis for chronic inflammation that may contribute to a variety of systemic diseases, including Alzheimer's disease. This webinar will present recent discoveries that explain how periodontal disease creates risk for infection and inflammation, and how oral and neuronal inflammation are linked.
