The COVID-19 pandemic has changed health care delivery and the ways patients interact with the health care system. States are making major policy and regulatory changes to expand health systems’ telehealth capabilities to meet the needs of patients and providers due to the global pandemic. The continued provision of clinically appropriate telehealth services past the emergency period is especially important for residents of rural and frontier areas, people in communities disadvantaged by social and economic injustice, individuals with compromised immune systems, severe chronic conditions, and disabilities, and those without reliable access to transportation.
This webinar, hosted by Families USA, will highlight findings from a recently released report, “Advancing Health Equity through Telehealth Interventions during COVID-19 and Beyond: Policy Recommendations and Promising State Models,” and will feature remarks focusing on how to improve patient engagement with telehealth services and opportunities for family physicians to integrate telehealth into the payment and delivery system.
Families USA would like to thank the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) for supporting this work.
